Leavitt Women's Healthcare offers a wide range of gynecological services that aim to improve a women's overall well-being. We are here for you at any stage and age of life. As you pass through womanhood, your health is further monitored through well-woman exams, preventative care, and general health counseling. 

Your annual well-woman visit is your opportunity to connect with your provider about your health. This visit is for you to take the time to discuss any current concerns or questions you may have with your provider.

If a medical issue arises, our team takes a conservative management to help avoid or limit unnecessary surgeries. However, if surgical intervention does become necessary, Dr. Leavitt and Dr. Jacobs have nearly 20 years of combined experience with both minor and major female surgeries.

Our Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM) are primary health care providers specializing in women’s health from puberty to menopause. They care for healthy pregnant women with low-risk pregnancies from preconception counseling through delivery and the postpartum phase. They also care for women outside of pregnancy: conducting annual exams and preventative care, managing or initiating contraception, caring for acute gynecological problems, addressing menopause or hormonal concerns, and providing basic mental health care. Since they are Advanced Practice Nurses they are able to prescribe medications that are needed for any of these areas.

Advancements in technology have made minimally invasive options the preferred approach. Robotic assisted surgery (at Leavitt Women's Healthcare we use the Da Vinci robotic surgical system).

In a robotic hysterectomy with the Da Vinci system, Dr. Leavitt and Dr. Jacobs are able to remove the uterus through either a few small incisions or through one small incision in the belly button. During the robotic hysterectomy with Da Vinci, Dr. Leavitt or Dr. Jacobs sits at a console next to the patient, and operates using tiny instruments. Throughout the procedure, the Da Vinci camera provides high-definition, 3d magnified views inside the body.

• Single, or few small incisions scarring

There's a variety of women's health issues that may occur, some are treatable with medication and others may require surgery like a Hysterectomy. Speaking with our medical professional can help you diagnose and treat any irregularities with your body and its normal functioning.

There are a number of fertility treatments available. At Leavitt Women's Healthcare our doctors will suggest the treatment that will solve the root cause of the infertility.

The physicians at Leavitt Women’s Healthcare perform tubal reversals laparoscopically whenever possible. The surgery is performed using special instruments which are inserted through small incisions in the patient’s abdomen.

One of the instruments is a laparoscope, a slender tube with a camera and light mounted on the end. The camera sends a live video feed to a monitor in the procedure room, allowing the doctor to see the procedure without an invasive traditional open procedure. The surgery is performed under general anesthesia, and most patients are able to return home on the same day.

Heavy lifting and other strenuous activities should be avoided until the doctor says it is allowed. To determine the success of the surgery, the patient will usually have an x-ray test with a dye to check if the fallopian tubes have been successfully opened. If the surgery is successful, most women are able to become pregnant within 12-18 months.
